Greetings from Principal Young!

Summer 2026

Dear Bard Baltimore Families,

It is an honor to introduce myself as the new Principal of Bard High School Early College Baltimore. As a proud Baltimore native, educator, professor, school leader, and mother, I am excited to join this remarkable community and partner with you to ensure every student experiences an education that is intellectually challenging, personally meaningful, and grounded in a strong sense of belonging.

During my first weeks at Bard, I have been listening and learning from our students, families, faculty, staff, and district leaders. Those conversations have reinforced my belief that meaningful school improvement begins with listening, grows through collaboration, and succeeds when we keep students at the center of every decision.

At Bard, we believe every student deserves exceptional teaching, rigorous learning, and a school where they feel known, valued, and supported. As we begin the new school year, we will also consistently implement the expectations outlined in the Baltimore City Public Schools Student Code of Conduct including policies regarding personal electronic devices and student dress. These expectations help create a focused, respectful, and college-ready learning environment.

Thank you for entrusting us with your children. Together, we will help every Bard student grow as a scholar, leader, and compassionate member of our community.

With appreciation,
Arnetta M. R. Young
Principal
