Our Library

Librarian: Rachel Wasserman

Today’s students live in a world that is rapidly changing — an ever-shifting landscape in which the task to create meaning and construct knowledge can be difficult — even daunting. While information is readily available, sorting out the signal from the noise is not always an easy endeavor. It is imperative that students master information literacy skills in accessing, evaluating, and using information. To foster the development of these crucial skills, the library media program provides resources that support the curriculum and reinforce and enhance content-area instruction. The aim of the library media program is to empower students to become effective users of ideas and information as they grow on a lifelong journey of learning.

In addition to providing a quiet space for students to study, the Bard Baltimore Library is a common meeting place for notable guests to meet with students in a relaxed setting. The Library also hosts the popular Deans’ Hour speaker series, including the Student Research Symposium. The librarian provides instructional support to faculty in teaching students information literacy and research skills. To make a request for her to speak to your class, co-teach, or help design a research assignment, please complete this Google Form.
